Fellow Alumni Club
The NIIOS Fellow Alumni Club serves as a platform for former NIIOS corneal and research fellows to stay connected, exchange information on surgical cases and share tips and tricks for starting out with DMEK surgeries in their own clinical setting. The club was established in 2014.
All NIIOS fellows contribute substantively to NIIOS R&D research projects during their fellowship tenure, and they often continue to do so after their fellowship ends. NIIOS fellow alumni also remain actively involved in NIIOS presentations and instruction courses during ophthalmic congresses.
The annual meeting of the NIIOS Fellow Alumni Club coincides with the NIIOS Cornea Evening prior to the summer ESCRS in September. A new president is elected each year during the annual meeting. Each president chooses a particular focus for his or her presidency, such as the facilitation of information exchange. The current president of the NIIOS Fellow Alumni Club is Dr. Itay Lavy from Israel. Learn more about Itay and the club’s previous presidents.
